Friday 2/23/24... Court construction completed!

Thursday 2/22/24... Poles and net assembled by local volleyball enthusiasts and volunteers.
Wednesday 2/21/24... Continued sand leveling and border dirt backfilling
Tuesday 2/20/24... drainage (stone) level and barrier have been placed and leveled. Sand is being leveled and backfill dirt has been placed to dry and will be graded in the coming days
Friday 2/16/24... volunteers came together to clean up leaves from the construction site so the build could continue. Our contractor estimates 7-10 days of work remaining on the court

Selected Site
The sand (beach) volleyball court will be located at the northeast corner of the park and will accommodate 6s, 4s, and 2s formats of play. The net will be adjustable to standard mens', womens', and juniors' heights.

Concerns About the Court
Update to 3/9/23 Community Input Call regarding Proposed Volleyball Court:
One of the concerns expressed during the Community Input Call was the level of noise that may come from evening volleyball games into the homes closest to the proposed court location. In pursuit of evaluating this concern, D14 Park Board Member Rudy Karimi and FOTP volunteers attempted a volleyball game in the evening on the proposed site. Please review the attached video to see method and outcome.

A court could cost over $40-45,000 for engineering, construction, and materials. The project was deemed eligible to get half its funding from the city’s Matching Fund program if private funds raise half of the estimated total cost. We are roughly targeting a fund raise of $25,000. Please fill out the survey so we can show City Hall that Dallas and Lakewood welcomes volleyball to Tietze Park!
Of the $25,000 to be raised we estimate:
